A Time to Celebrate-Fountaingrove Rising!

On Saturday, September 15th, our company, Sonoma County Builders (SCB), hosted an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate the first three completed rebuilt homes in Fountaingrove, located in northeast Santa Rosa. The celebration took place on Sonterra Court in the Miramonte neighborhood.

On October 8th, 2017, the Tubbs fire devastated much of the Fountaingrove and Coffee Park communities.

Eleven months later, we have completed the first three homes in Fountaingrove, with several more not far behind.

Sonoma County Builders, was founded by our father, Ed Keith, and sons David, Eric, and Bill, and Jesse Bradman. We are a family owned and operated home builder with deep roots in Sonoma County.

Ed was a superintendent and construction manager for Cobblestone Homes for more than 30 years. David and Eric are industry leaders in fire, water, and smoke repair and remediation. Bill comes to SCB with 20 plus years experience in large scale project management. With experience in all aspects of home construction and project management, SCB is honored to be helping people put their lives back together as they reconstruct their homes. Within days of the fire, SCB was ready to help. Our long standing relationships with architects and other subcontractors enabled us to begin rebuilding quickly. Our first set of plans were ready in May and we were underway!

From plans to completion in just five months!

Fast forward to September 15th--three homes completed and we were ready to celebrate! Homeowners, neighbors, subcontractors, and community members joined our SCB family for an afternoon of celebration, laughter and fun. Neighbors were able to reconnect with each other, and many people remarked how healing it was to come together for such a positive and happy occasion! One sweet homeowner, who's house survived the fire, shared how uplifting it is to see the neighborhood come back to life.

Some great folks partnered with us to make this a memorable day:

Fantastic music was provided by KZST's Mike Adams, who broadcast live from 12-2 pm. Mike is so upbeat and engaging, we all couldn't help but feel like we'd been friends with him forever!

Big Poppa’s Smokehouse served their AHH--MAZING smoked brisket and pork sandwiches, paired with a side of homemade coleslaw. YUM!

For information on Big Poppa's, give Joe a call at 707.483.8764.

Fruity Moto (sponsored by local non profit Hearts for Happiness) was also on hand concocting yummy fruity smoothies and acai bowls which our guests LOVED!

Our SCB team enjoyed the opportunity to visit with neighbors and get to know members of our community.

Hearts for Happiness, a local non profit whose mission is to perform random acts of kindness in our community and beyond, was on hand with their partner, the Miller family, who hosts The Miller Lights during the holiday season to raise money for Hearts for Happiness. They spread cheer and happiness throughout the afternoon by handing out bags of love, bubbles, and by hosting a free drawing for a family fun basket.

Guests were encouraged to spin the Hearts for Happiness Kindness Wheel, which gives suggestions for random acts of kindness that we can perform in our every day lives.

The SCB executive team planted and dedicated a mature maple tree in honor of the rebuilding of Miramonte. We look forward to watching this neighborhood continue to flourish with each reconstructed home!

The highlight of our celebration was theRibbon Cutting Ceremony for very first completed Tubbs fire rebuild in Fountaingrove! We were so pleased that County Supervisor Shirley Zane joined us and homeowner, Tom. Her words of encouragement and joy brought many to tears. After the ceremony, Tom invited everyone to tour his home.

Tom's home, a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, has vintage style, hazelnut floors with a hand scraped look, and Salem Maple cabinetry. The expansive bank of cabinets in the kitchen, paired with lightly patterned quartz countertops, gives the kitchen a warm feel. The large windows in the eat-in area keep the room from feeling too dark; plantation shutters add a charming touch to this spacious kitchen and are featured throughout the home. The subway tile back splash fills the entire wall; which coupled with the modern style range hood and appliances, gives the kitchen that contemporary vintage vibe. The master bath is a gorgeous blend of quartz and tile.

Two other homes were also available to tour during our Open House. Home #2 is a three bedroom, 2 bath single story that features stacked stone exterior details.

The home's interior has a marble tile floor that extends throughout the kitchen and premium engineered hardwood floors. The marble countertops and backsplash paired with the Salem Maple cabinets effortlessly combine both modern and traditional style. The master bath features marble countertops and tile floor, and soldier stacked 12x24 inch tile in the shower.

Home #3 is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath with a contemporary grey and white color scheme and the dark tinted beauty bark adds the perfect contrasting touch to the exterior.

This home's interior features white cabinetry, aged hickory LVP floors, and quartz countertops. Fill the expansive built in window seat with your collection of throw pillows, and it becomes the perfect perch for bird watching or to wile away a quiet Sunday afternoon with your favorite book. Have a large family? This eat in kitchen boasts plenty of room for a dining table and chairs. The cabinetry, countertops, and finishes combine to create an on-trend palette, no matter what your decor style might be—farmhouse, cottage, or contemporary.

These homes could not have been completed without the help of our quality partner subcontractors and vendors. We strive to use local companies whenever possible to keep dollars in the Sonoma County economy.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who helped make this day a fun and joy-filled event. Thank you to our event partners, our business associates, and especially to the community members who joined us.
